Britain’s new King King Charles III and Queen Camilla have been crowned. The King and Queen’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey Church in London on Saturday, 6 May lasted 80 minutes.
The archbishop then crowned King Charles and Queen Camilla. King Charles wore the St. Edward’s Crown made in 1661, while the crown worn by the Queen did not contain the Kohinoor diamond.
The coronation has taken place in Britain’s royal family after 70 years. Earlier in 1953, Queen Elizabeth, the mother of King Charles, was coronated. Charles was only 4 years old at that time.
Now King Charles is 74 years old. After the death of Queen Elizabeth about 6 months ago, her eldest son Charles was declared king, but now he has been coronated.
