Iran: Iranian police have exposed a big conspiracy to terrorize Tehran. Police have defused 30 bombs that exploded simultaneously in Tehran.
Police have arrested at least 28 suspects in this case. It is being said that the Islamic terrorist organization Islamic State was behind this conspiracy.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency quoted the Intelligence Ministry as saying on Sunday that some of the arrested accused have links with the Islamic State (IS) and some also have a history of being associated with Takfiri groups in Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Kurdistan Region Iraq.
ISIS has claimed several attacks in Iran, including deadly twin bombings in 2017 that targeted Iran’s parliament and the tomb of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic.
Most recently, IS claimed responsibility for an attack on a Shia shrine last October that killed 15 people in the southwestern city of Shiraz. ISIS is a Sunni terrorist organization, which calls Shia Muslims infidels and supports their murder. At the same time, Iran is a Shia-majority country.
