Afghanistan: Many changes have taken place in Afghanistan since the Taliban came to power. From banning women’s jobs and studies to closing beauty parlors, it has been talked about. At the same time, preparations are being made to declare music immoral in Afghanistan.
According to the report of the news agency AFP, the Taliban burnt musical instruments in Afghanistan. The incident took place this weekend when musical instruments such as tabla, harmonium, and guitar were collected and set ablaze by the Taliban in Afghanistan’s Herat province.
Aziz al-Rahman al-Muhajir, head of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in Herat province, said that promoting the music leads to moral corruption and that playing it would lead youth astray.
Musical instruments torched by the Taliban include tabla, harmonium, and guitar as well as drums, amplifiers, and speakers. They are said to have cost several hundred dollars and were confiscated from marriage halls in Herat.
Since coming to power in August 2021, the Taliban has been continuously taking away the rights of women citing morality. Even the United Nations has expressed concern over this.
At the beginning of the month, the Taliban announced the closure of all beauty parlors. There are thousands of beauty parlors in Afghanistan. They are owned only by women.
