International: This has been revealed in a UN report. To this end, the organization is focusing on improving relations with the Taliban in Afghanistan. The UNSC team monitoring the operations of Al Qaeda and Islamic State has released this report.
According to the report, 200 fighters of the al-Qaeda organization AQIS (Al-Qaeda in Indian Sub-Content) are present in the Indian subcontinent. Their leader is terrorist Osama Mahmood. And there are 400 fighters of this organization in Afghanistan. A UN member state has claimed that AQIS is set to join ISIS’ Khorasan Province (ISIL-K) in the region.
At the same time, a state has claimed that this organization is trying to get support from the Taliban by joining TTP. According to reports, AQIS is continuously helping TTP to carry out more and more terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
According to media reports, about 6,000 terrorists and their relatives affiliated with ISIL-K are in Afghanistan. They are constantly increasing their capabilities. A total of 20 terrorist organizations are estimated to be active in Afghanistan, including Al Qaeda and ISIL-K. Their aim is to make inroads in new areas as soon as they get a chance.
The ties between the Taliban, which seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021, and al-Qaeda run deep. However, according to the United Nations report, al-Qaeda operates covertly in Afghanistan, so that the Taliban cannot be accused of using Afghanistan to increase terrorist activities. This will help them to gain acceptance in the world as the government of Afghanistan.
