Avtar Singh Khanda, a close aide of Amritpal Singh, has been arrested for pulling down the indian flag at the Indian High Commission in London. Avtar Singh is said to be the handler of accused fugitive Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh.
It has also been feared that its wire is connected to Pakistan. Khanda, a UK-based activist of the Simranjit Singh Mann-led Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) faction, has been accused of having close links with Paramjit Singh Pamma and being a member of the Babbar Khalsa International, in a dossier prepared by intelligence agencies.
Sources told CNN-News18 that the dossier was shared with British agencies, following which Khanda was arrested. On Sunday, Khanda allegedly led a group of around 20 people to the Indian High Commission in London and ransacked India House.
According to the report, Avtar Singh Khanda is also a close associate of Khalistani terrorist Jagtar Singh Tara. The agencies said, ‘He is the main handler of Amritpal Singh and the brain behind the rise of Amritpal Singh.
IED training to youth
Indian documents handed over to Britain show Khanda, Amritpal Singh and their associates as radicals, training youths to make and use Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
He said, “Khanda is also close to Paramjit Singh Pamma (associated with Babbar Khalsa International) and is known for conducting ideological radicalization training classes to mislead Sikh youth. One of their insidious objectives is to destabilize Punjab through ideological indoctrination. He has a lot of influence on Amritpal.
MP’s Twitter account also blocked
In this sequence, the Twitter account of Lok Sabha MP from Punjab Simranjit Singh Mann was also blocked. The action was taken after Simranjeet made a provocative statement condemning the ongoing police operation against Amritpal and other Khalistan supporters.
