Ukraine: It has been almost 16 months since the war between Russia and Ukraine. The armies of both countries are continuously attacking each other. Thousands of soldiers from both countries have lost their lives.
In the past also many countries have taken the initiative to calm the war, but no result has come out of it. Now Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky told a joint press conference with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez that the government in Kyiv may be ready to negotiate an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has offered to end the war through talks if his forces regain control of borders that the country considers internationally recognized, according to Russian news agency TASS. Said at the press conference on Saturday (July 1).
The borders that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is talking about include Crimea, Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. At a joint news conference with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Saturday, Zelensky spoke of border controls when asked if he was open to talks to end the war.
Prior to Russia’s invasion in February 2022, all positions included within these borders were under Ukrainian control.
