Pakistan: Unidentified gunmen fired indiscriminately at a security post in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, killing four security personnel. Police officials said the attack took place on Thursday at a checkpost in Balochistan’s Sherani district, Pakistan-based Geo News reported.
According to the police officer, one attacker was killed in retaliatory firing during the attack. The police officer said that after the incident, a search operation was started in the area. At the same time, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudus Bizenjo condemned the attack.
Abdul Qudus Bizenjo said, “The terrorists cannot demoralize the security forces with their cowardly act.” He further said, “The sacrifice of the security forces is a torch for the country.” Reassuring.
Reports of the attack said that earlier on Saturday, at least one police officer was injured in an attack on Smart Police Station Civil Lines Quetta after an attacker hurled a grenade at the station and fled the scene.
