Reliance Group Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday said it will invest Rs 75,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh over the next four years to launch 5G services, expand telecom network including retail and new energy business. He said at the ‘Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit’ that his group’s telecom arm Jio would start 5G services across the state by December 2023.
Ambani said that there is a lot of potential in UP in the country. UP is emerging as Uttam Pradesh. Together we will take UP to the forefront in terms of population and progress. He said that by December 2023, Reliance Jio 5G services will be started everywhere in the state. He said that through these projects, better schools and health services will be provided to villages and small towns through Jio School and Jio Doctor.
Thousands of grocery store owners in UP will be benefited through Reliance Retail. Ambani said that we will implement 10 GW renewable energy project in UP, which will be UP’s biggest project. We will soon start a new bioenergy business. This will benefit the farmers of UP. He said that since 2018, Reliance has invested Rs 50,000 crore in UP. Our investments have provided direct or indirect employment to 80,000 people. We will invest Rs 75000 crore in UP in the coming years. About one lakh new jobs are expected to be created with this investment. He was speaking at the UP Global Investors Summit held in Lucknow. Mukesh Ambani claimed that within 5 years Uttar Pradesh would become a $1 trillion economy.
