The Australian government has banned the consumption of alcohol by soldiers during military operations or exercises. This decision has been taken in view of the investigation of 23 incidents that took place in 2020.
At the time the Australian military unit was stationed in Afghanistan. Soldiers from this unit were accused of shooting and killing 39 civilian Afghan civilians for the exercise.
When this matter was revealed, Australia had to face embarrassment on the world stage at that time. After this, the Ministry of Defense of Australia investigated the case under war crimes.
Angus issues a report on the war crimes. Said- Our soldiers deployed in Afghanistan killed 39 innocent civilians. Most of the perpetrators of this crime were Australian soldiers who went to the battlefield for the first time. These soldiers riddled innocent people with bullets just in the name of practice.
Scott Morrison was the prime minister at the time. He had formed a separate committee to investigate. Later also apologized to the people of Afghanistan.
