India-Taiwan-China: On August 8, 3 former military officers of the Indian Army visited Taiwan. China has expressed strong objection on Thursday. Actually, during the press conference, a Pakistani journalist asked Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin a question on this matter. In response, Wenbin said that we oppose any official dialogue with Taiwan.
Wenbin said- This has always been our stance regarding Taiwan. We hope that India will also adhere to the One-China principle and refrain from expanding any military and security cooperation with Taiwan.
According to The Economic Times report, former Admiral Karambir Singh, General MM Naravane, and former Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria had visited Taiwan. He participated in the Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue held in Taiwan.
According to senior journalist Palki Sharma, India was one of the first Asian countries to recognize China in December 1949. Thereafter, there was no formal contact between India and Taiwan for 45 years. There was a situation of deadlock between the two countries. Taiwan’s attitude was also not very positive towards India.
Taiwan remained adamant about its one-China policy by making Taipei the center of power. Its position on Tibet and the McMahon Line was exactly the same as that of China. He had deep relations with America, but he was not much interested in countries like India.
