Entertainment: Rajinikanth’s action film Jailor is on the verge of earning Rs 600 crore at the worldwide box office. The film has earned Rs 588.68 crore in just 16 days of its release.
The film collected a total of 2.5 crores in all the languages of the country on the third Friday of its release. The film was released on 10 August in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.
Rajinikanth’s film is getting a good response in the country as well. In India, the film earned around 52 crores on the day of its release. The film’s collection reached Rs 235.85 crore in the first week of its release. In the second week, the film earned around 62.95 crores.
At the same time, after collecting 2.5 crores on Friday, the film has grossed 301.3 crores nett in all languages across the country.
Apart from this, the film has also earned around 183 crores overseas. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film earned approximately ₹11.9 crore on its first day of release in the US. This figure is more than the collection of Superstar Vijay’s film Warisu. Warisu earned a total of 9.43 crores in the US.
Rajinikanth plays Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in director Nelson’s film Jailer. In the film, Tiger tries to stop a group whose aim is to get their leader out of jail at any cost. The film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff.
