Ukraine: The Nova Kakhovka dam, which was destroyed in the explosion in the early hours of Tuesday, has now turned into a big tragedy. The drinking water crisis has arisen in front of people in Ukraine. Normal water is not being provided to thousands of people.
Meanwhile, what the relief and rescue workers have told is heart-wrenching. Rescuers say there are fears that even water that is safe for drinking has now been contaminated by the bodies in the cemetery.
Due to the explosion, 80 villages located near this dam have been completely washed away and some areas have been submerged in water. People are being shifted to a safe place.
People living in the flood-affected area had to leave their villages and run away. Some regions of Ukraine have been plunged into darkness. It is feared that the drinking water has also become contaminated. The flood water is passing through the cemeteries. That’s why it is feared that it has been contaminated with dead bodies.
The rescuer said, ‘Our drinking water comes from the Dnieper River. But now the cremation ground is waterlogged, so it is not safe to drink. He told that apart from oil in the water, there are also residues of power plants and mines. Now there is plenty of water in the city but there is no safe drinking water.
