The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabi, said in a statement that the operation to evacuate the oil tanker SEAVIGOR was started as soon as the Khaya Navigation Control Center was informed of the malfunction. This tanker was stopped at the 12th kilometer of the Suez Canal.
The ship was traveling as part of the Northern Convoy on its way from Russia to China. He told that immediately the tugboat was dispatched, after which the work of evacuating the tanker from the tugboat started.
