A tragic incident took place on Monday evening in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, where a five-year-old boy named Sagar fell into a borewell and lost his life despite rescue efforts by five teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
According to the NDRF, the incident occurred around 4 pm when the child was playing and accidentally fell into the borewell, which was about 15 feet deep. The local police were immediately alerted, and efforts were made to rescue the child. An ambulance and medical team were also present at the site to provide immediate medical assistance, but unfortunately, the child could not be saved.
Sagar’s father works as a sugarcane cutter in Kopardi village, and the news of his son’s death has left the family and the entire village in shock and grief.
The incident once again highlights the need for greater safety measures and awareness in rural areas, where borewells are often left uncovered and pose a significant risk to young children. The government and local authorities must take immediate steps to ensure the safety of children in such areas and prevent similar tragedies from happening in the future.
Meanwhile, condolences and prayers have been pouring in for Sagar and his family from various quarters, and the authorities have promised to provide all necessary support and assistance to the family in this difficult time.
