After the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australia has given a big blow to the separatist organization Sikh for Justice. The Australian government has canceled plans for a Khalistan referendum to be held at the Sydney Masonic Center on June 4.
The Sydney Masonic Center is said to have decided to cancel the event following hundreds of complaints received from the Indian community in Australia. Khalistan supporters were carrying out anti-India activities in Australia.
These Khalistanis attacked temples several times and also demonstrated against India. India had also expressed serious objection to pro-Khalistan rallies in front of Australia.
A spokesperson for the Sydney Masonic Center said the Masonic Center had canceled bookings this morning because it was in opposition to the adopted Masonic policy, The Australian reported.
In practice, this cannot be done because of the risk to Masonic staff, properties, and member people. “We did not understand the nature of this Khalistani event at the time of booking, however after much deliberation, it has been decided that Sydney Masonic Center does not wish to be part of any event that could potentially harm the community,” They said.
