Suicide cases are increasing continuously in North Korea. In view of this, dictator Kim Jong Un has issued a secret order banning suicide. He has called it treason. In the order, the officers have been given the responsibility of preventing suicides. If any case of treason comes to light throughout North Korea, the officials will be held responsible for it.
A North Korean official gave this information while talking to Radio Free Asia. According to a South Korean spy agency, 40% more suicide cases were reported in North Korea till May than last year.
There were 35 cases of suicide in Chongjin province this year. Most of these cases are of the entire family committing suicide together. People have criticized the social system there in the suicide note. He cited rising poverty and unemployment as the reason for the suicide.
According to WHO’s 2019 report, there were 8.2 suicides for every 100,000 people in North Korea. However, Kim has not yet released the official data of the suicide case. South Korea’s spy agency said that cases of violent crimes are also increasing continuously in Kim’s country.
