On the occasion of Ashtami, the main fair is being held at the famous Jeenmata temple in Sikar, Rajasthan. The day began with the Maha Aarti, which took place at 8:30 in the morning, followed by the offering of fruits from Jaipur. The temple is now bustling with devotees, who have come to seek blessings on this auspicious day.
Decorations and Offerings
Jeen Bhavani, the deity of the temple, has been adorned with 11 different costumes, including a 21 kg Katiyar dress, which was specially brought from a far-off location. Flowers from Kolkata and Delhi have been used to decorate the temple. This morning, the mother was dressed in a Sindoori Chola Panchamrit, which is considered to be a special offering.
According to the temple committee, about 10 lakh devotees have visited the Chaitra Navratri fair so far, and the number is expected to rise on Ashtami.
Security Arrangements
The fair is being organized under the leadership of SDM Pratibha Verma and Tehsildar Vipul Chaudhary. Hundreds of policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order at the fair. Policemen in civil dress are also keeping a close watch on anti-social elements. The temple trust has made arrangements for accessible darshan for the devotees.
Special Guest at the Fair
Supreme Court Judge JK Maheshwari is expected to visit the temple on Mahashtami. The priests have been informed about his arrival, and special worship will be conducted in his honor.
