Pakistan: Mushal Hussain Malik, the Pakistani-origin wife of Kashmir-based terrorist Yasin Malik, has been made Special Advisor to the Prime Minister (SAPM). Apart from him, four more people have also been made special advisors.
According to the constitution of Pakistan, a person with dual citizenship can be made an advisor, but he cannot be a full-time minister. According to media reports, Mushal has citizenship in Britain besides Pakistan.
Mushal often gives anti-India statements while sitting in Pakistan. Recently, in the film ‘Kashmir Files, he said – Kashmir completely belongs to Pakistan and we will take it. She has also been campaigning for the release of her terrorist husband from Pakistan. This includes his daughter who currently lives in the UK.
Yasin Malik is a Kashmiri terrorist and separatist leader. He is associated with the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF). He is also accused of inciting the youth to terrorism.
Yasin Malik was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2022 by the NIA court on charges of terror funding case, UAPA, and waging war against the country. Life imprisonment in two cases and 10 years in other cases.
All the sentences will run concurrently. Several cases were registered against Yasin related to funding terrorist attacks in Kashmir with the support of Pakistan and providing arms to terrorists.
