Russia: The home and office of Yevgeny Prigogine, head of Russia’s rebel private army Wagner Group, has been raided by the Russian military and intelligence agency FSB. A large number of bundles of dollars and 600 million rubles (over Rs 54 crore), gold bars, several wigs, a cache of arms, a crocodile, and a photograph were found there.
The picture showed the severed heads of people who were Prigogine’s enemies. These pictures have been released by the Russian newspaper Izvestia. Wagner’s army had mutinied about 15 days earlier, on 23 June. After this, on June 24, under the agreement, Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigogine was ordered to go to Belarus.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said 2 days ago that Prigogine has returned to Russia. However, Prigogine’s location is not officially known.
According to Russian media, Prigogine used these wigs to disguise himself. Apart from this, FSB has also got passports from many different countries. Earlier on July 5, Russia’s State TV claimed that action was still being taken against Prigogine. The media house had said that a rapid investigation is going on in Russia regarding Wagner’s rebellion.
