The Uttar Pradesh Budget 2023 presented by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in the state assembly on Wednesday has brought good news for the farmers. In a big announcement, the Yogi Adityanath government has fulfilled its election promise by providing a 100% rebate on electricity bills for farmers in the state.
In addition to the electricity bill waiver, CM Yogi also announced during his press conference that farmers connected with private tube wells in the state will receive 100% exemption in the coming time, up from the 50% discount provided in the previous budget.
This announcement is in line with the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people of Uttar Pradesh. As CM Yogi stated, out of the 132 promises made in the resolution letter in the budget, the government has fulfilled 110 promises.

Apart from the farmer-friendly measures, the budget also includes a new scheme for Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries, where they will receive one free LPG cylinder each on Diwali and Holi. The government has allocated a budget of Rs. 3,47,47,48,000 for this initiative.
The budget has been hailed as a step towards the state’s development and progress, with a provision of Rs. 64,000 crore made for the promises made in the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra, out of a total of 130 promises.
