The highly anticipated action family drama, Varisu, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, was released worldwide in cinemas on January 11 in its original Tamil language. The Telugu version of the film, Vaarasudu, and the Hindi version titled Varisu itself, hit theaters on January 14 and January 13, respectively.
Now, Amazon Prime Video India has announced that the Hindi dubbed version of the film will be available for streaming on their platform from March 8. In their social media announcement, the streaming giant stated, “no more holding back! this ultimate entertainer now comes to you in Hindi #VarisuOnPrime, Mar 8 in Hindi!” The release date appears to have been strategically chosen to coincide with the festival of colors, Holi, which will be celebrated on March 8.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Varisu also features Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Shaam, and Srikanth in leading roles. The film was produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations and Prasad V Potluri under PVP Cinema.

The film faced tough competition at the box office, releasing during the Pongal weekend alongside other big releases such as Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu, Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya, and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy. Despite the intense competition, Varisu emerged as a huge box office success, grossing over Rs 300 crore worldwide, as confirmed by the makers. According to KoiMoi.com, the film earned Rs 210.15 crore gross (Rs 178.10 crore net) in India and Rs 90 crore gross from overseas territories, bringing its total global collection to Rs 300.15 crore gross.
