A five-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Hyderabad on Sunday. The heart-wrenching visuals of the incident were captured on a CCTV camera in the premises of Amberpet, where the boy’s father worked as a security guard. The child Pradeep had gone to work with his father when the attack took place. In the video, the child is seen walking alone. Just then, three dogs come running towards him and surround him. The terrified boy tries to run away, but the dogs come upon him and pin him to the ground.
The dogs start tearing at his clothes while the boy struggles to escape. Whenever he tries to get up, the dogs pounce on him and knock him down. In no time, all the dogs pounce on him and bite him. Three smaller dogs appear and the larger dog continues to bite the child and backs him into a corner. It seems from the photographs that the child died on the spot.
The heart-wrenching incident has again brought to the fore the menace of stray dogs, with many sharing visuals of the attack on social media and demanding strict action from the authorities.

Telangana minister KT Rama Rao expressed grief over the incident and said, “We are trying to tackle the menace of stray dogs in our municipalities. We have set up animal care centers and animal birth control centers. My deepest condolences to the family and we will ensure that such incidents do not happen again.”
This incident has come to light about two weeks after the death of a four-year-old child in the attack of stray dogs in Surat, Gujarat. Earlier, in January, over 80 people were hospitalized after being bitten by a stray dog in Bihar’s Arrah.
