Saudi Arabia is engaged in showing itself a progressive thinking country in the whole world. In this effort, Saudi has now taken another big step. Saudi Arabia has decided to send the first female astronaut into space.
It will send its first female astronaut Reena Barnawi and a male astronaut Ali Alkarni to the International Space Station (ISS) during the second quarter of 2023. Both the astronauts will join the crew of AX-2. Both the astronauts will be involved in the AX-2 space mission to be launched from the US. The objective of this mission is to enhance the country’s capability in human spaceflight. Along with this, Saudi aims to use space as an industry.
human flight begins
Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, CEO of the Saudi Space Commission, expressed his gratitude for supporting the commission. He says that this will give the country a chance to take a big leap in space. The mission is a major milestone in the Saudi space programme. It aims to launch Saudi human spaceflight, conduct scientific experiments and fulfill Saudi’s 2030 Space Vision.
This decision is important for Saudi Arabia
This decision is considered very important. By doing this, Saudi Arabia wants to present a liberal image to the world. Even before this, the Muslim country has given many rights to women. Giving women the right to drive cars many years ago is one of them.
