The Russian army has also blown up the largest dam in Ukraine. In the early hours of Tuesday, the Nova Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine exploded and the water started spreading like a catastrophe.
This has also been confirmed by the army of Ukraine. In October 2022, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky also expressed apprehension that Russia was plotting to blast the dam.
The dam falls in the part of the Kherson region that is controlled by Russia. Although the mayor of the area appointed by Russia has called it a ‘terrorist act’.
Russian terrorists. The destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam only confirms for the whole world that they must be expelled from every corner of Ukrainian land. Not a single meter should be left to them, because they use every meter for terror. It’s only… pic.twitter.com/ErBog1gRhH

After this incident, Zelensky wrote on Twitter, ‘Russian terrorist. The destruction of the Kakhovka dam only confirms to the whole world that they will be chased out of every corner of the land of Ukraine.’ Not even a meter of land should be left for them as they use every meter for terror. All the services are working, he added.
With the help of the dam, electricity reaches the Kakhovka Hydro Power Plant. The completion of the dam will add to Ukraine’s ongoing energy problems. It could also destroy the canal system that supplies water to most of southern Ukraine, including Crimea.
The Novaya Kakhovka Dam on the Dnieper River is the largest in Ukraine and is located 30 km east of the city of Kherson. The collapse of this dam would be disastrous for the local area as well as affect Ukraine’s war effort. The huge reservoir of water was held up due to the dam.
This dam is 30 meters long and hundreds of meters wide. It was built in 1956 under the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. It is said that there are about 18 cubic kilometers of water in this dam. This much water is equal to the water present in the Great Salt Lake in Utah, USA.
