The meeting took place amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. PM Modi and Zelensky have spoken on the phone several times before.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi said, the Ukraine war is a big issue for the world. This war is affecting the entire world. I don’t believe it’s an issue, but to me, it’s an issue of economics, politics, and humanity. India and I will do whatever we can to resolve the war. You (Ukraine) know the pain of war more than we do. Ukraine is a humanitarian issue for me.
