Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Papua New Guinea after Japan. Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape welcomed PM Modi by touching his feet at the airport.
After this PM Modi hugged James Marape. PM Modi has become the first Prime Minister of India to reach Papua New Guinea. No Indian Prime Minister has visited Papua New Guinea before him.
PM Modi was welcomed by a guard of honor at Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. PM Modi also met the people of the Indian community in Papua New Guinea.
Prime Minister Modi will jointly host the 3rd Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) with Prime Minister James Marape of Papua New Guinea. Before leaving for Papua New Guinea, PM Modi had said that I am grateful that all 14 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) have accepted the invitation to attend the important summit (FIPIC).
