India-Pakistan: In the UNSC meeting held in Britain on Wednesday, Pakistan again raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. On this, India’s Mission Counselor in the UN Ashish Sharma said – Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir were an integral part of India and will always be so. It doesn’t matter what Pakistan thinks or wants on this.
UNSC members in the UK were involved in a discussion on children and armed conflict. During this, Pakistan’s diplomat Munir Akram raised the issue of Kashmir in his statement. Akram said- India is not mentioned in the new report of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on children and armed conflict, which is a mistake.
India said – Pakistan is diverting the attention of the UNSC
Reacting to Akram’s statement, Indian diplomat Ashish Sharma said- A delegation in the UNSC has spewed venom against my country, which is politically motivated. We will not accept it. Those who are immersed in bigotry themselves cannot understand the unity of the society of India and the people of different communities living here. We strongly condemn such statements. With such statements, Pakistan is trying to divert the attention of the Council from the ongoing crimes against children in its country.
Apart from this, Sharma also expressed concern over the involvement of children in global terrorism and terrorist activities. He said- We have to work together to deal with terrorism and protect children.
For this, all the member countries will have to take strict action against the terrorists and the criminals funding them. He appealed to show no mercy to those who commit heinous crimes against children.
