A severe storm hit a city in northern Texas on Thursday, causing widespread destruction. It is being claimed that about three people have died in this and more than 100 people are injured. Americans have been put on alert in several southern and midwestern states.
Tornados, severe thunderstorms, and flash flood warnings were issued for parts of Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Florida. A severe tornado destroyed several buildings and damaged trees and vehicles Thursday evening in Perryton, a town of about 8,000 people in the Texas Panhandle.
Perryton Fire Chief Paul Dutcher said three people were confirmed dead and more than 100 people were hospitalized with injuries. He said that some patients have been referred to the trauma center.

In a statement, Governor Greg Abbott said, “Texas is rapidly deploying critical emergency response resources to provide all necessary assistance to the safety of those affected by the tornadoes in Texas and Perryton.”
