Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced a new bike in the Indian market, the Shine 100cc. The new bike is expected to compete with the popular Hero Splendor, HF Deluxe, and Bajaj Platina in the country.
Features of the New Honda Shine 100cc
The Shine 100cc is a smaller version of Honda’s popular Shine 125cc motorcycle. It comes with an all-new air-cooled, 99.7cc, single-cylinder engine, which is fuel injected and has a fuel pump outside the engine. According to the company, this new engine is capable of delivering better mileage, making it an attractive option for commuters. Additionally, the bike has a solenoid starter, which makes it easier to start the bike in any temperature.
The new Shine 100cc also has the ability to run on E20 fuel and comes with a halogen headlight, side-stand inhibitor, and combined braking system. The bike will be available in five color schemes, including Red, Blue, Green, Gold, and Gray stripes with Black base.
Price and Availability
The initial price of the new Honda Shine 100cc has been set at Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Bookings for the bike have started, and deliveries will begin in May 2023.
Competition in the Market
The Honda Shine 100cc will compete with Hero MotoCorp’s bikes, including HF 100, HF Deluxe, Splendor+, and Splendor+ XTEC, which are priced between Rs 54,962 and Rs 75,840. Bajaj has only Platina A100 in this segment, which costs Rs 67,475. With a starting price of Rs 64,900, the Honda Shine A100 is priced competitively, placing it right in the middle of the pack in the 100cc space in India.
The launch of the new Honda Shine 100cc motorcycle is expected to give stiff competition to Hero and Bajaj in the Indian market. With its new fuel-injected engine, better mileage, and other features, the Shine 100cc is likely to attract the attention of commuters who are looking for an affordable and efficient mode of transportation.
