Metro services have been affected in some cities including Lahore due to power outage. A video has emerged from Lahore, in which a metro can be seen standing on the middle track, after which passengers can be seen coming out of the emergency door of the metro and walking beside the track. Closing notices were seen outside metro stations in Lahore on monday.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan issued a statement saying that the electrical problems have now been resolved. At the major airports of the country, the work is now going on in a normal way. We are using standby power.
Many factories are closed on Monday due to power supply failure. Government hospitals in Islamabad have had to shut down their operation theatres, while some hospitals in Karachi are working on backup power.
There was a disturbance in the National Grid at 7.34 am. Efforts are on to restore the power supply. The power supply of 117 grid stations of the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company has also been disrupted, which has plunged a large part of the country into darkness. Metro service has also been affected due to no electricity, due to which the passengers are facing a lot of difficulties.
