America regarding Manipur: America expressed concern over the ongoing violence in Manipur on Thursday. US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has said that if India asks for help, we are ready for that. He said- We know that this is India’s internal matter, we expect peace as soon as possible. We have no strategic concern over the situation there, we are concerned about the people.
Actually, during a program in Kolkata, a journalist asked him a question about Manipur. In response to this, Garcetti said these things. He also said that one need not be an Indian to express concern for the children of Manipur and the people dying there.
Garcetti has also said that there has been a lot of progress in the North-East of India in the last few years. Peace brings much better things in any field. If violence ends in Manipur and peace is established, we will invest there.
We are also ready to bring new projects. Garcetti also talked about democracy. He said- Democracy is very difficult, protecting the rights of minorities is a very difficult task.
The Congress has retaliated on the statement of US Ambassador Eric Garcetti. Congress MP Manish Tiwari has said – Prime Minister Modi should have gone to Manipur. We will also raise this issue in Parliament.
He said- India is going through many challenges, but we do not like anyone to interfere in our affairs. Gun violence kills many people in America. Racial riots keep happening, but we never lectured them about it. The new ambassador should know the history of Indo-US relations.
