London, Feb 5 (PTI) British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak dropped important signals by attending a meeting between India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and his British counterpart Tim Barrow at the Cabinet Office here.
At a meeting of the two countries’ NSAs on Friday, Sunak underlined that the UK supports further strengthening the strategic partnership in areas such as trade, defence, science and technology. Doval is in London for the annual bilateral strategic dialogue with Britain after his visit to Washington. He had earlier held similar talks with his American counterpart Jack Sullivan.

Referring to the meeting, the High Commission of India in London and the Ministry of External Affairs tweeted late on Saturday, “PM Rishi Sunak participated in the India-UK NSA dialogue between Sir Tim Barrow and Hon Doval at the Cabinet Office and gave specific indications.” ,
It added, “The Prime Minister’s assurance lends importance to the fact that his government fully supports further deepening of the strategic partnership in trade, defence, science and technology. Sir Tim is expected to visit India shortly.” The security talks between India and China took place in the backdrop of the controversial UK BBC documentary “India: The Modi Question”. The Government of India has condemned the documentary as partisan propaganda.
