Today is Bapu’s 75th death anniversary. The death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is also celebrated as Martyr’s Day.
January 30, 1948 was the day when the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse. Nathuram Godse had shot three bullets at the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Let us tell you that Nathuram Godse, who killed Mahatma Gandhi, and Narayan Dattatreya Apte, who was with him in the conspiracy of this crime, were hanged. He was hanged on 15 November 1949. ‘Peaceful movement, love-brotherhood we inherited from Bapu’.

The Congress party has paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. The Congress party remembered Bapu by tweeting from its Twitter handle.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also remembered Bapu. He tweeted and wrote that he wrote on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who inspired the country to become self-reliant by following the path of indigenous and self-reliance. Adopting the ideas of Swachhata, Swadeshi and Swadeshi adopted by Pujya Bapu in the golden age of independence would be a true tribute to Gandhiji. Mahatma Gandhi was born in Porbandar, Gujarat.

Actually, Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. Mahatma Gandhi received his higher education in England. However, seeing the atrocities happening in the country, he became a part of the freedom struggle against the British rule. He played an important role in the independence of India. However, he was assassinated just a few months after the country became independent.
