On Monday, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Turkey and northwestern Syria, trapping nearly 300 people, injuring hundreds and causing buildings to collapse. Earthquake tremors were felt on Monday morning in Egypt, Cyprus, Lebanon, some Israel and Palestinian areas. The US, Israel and other countries have offered similar support. The United States is deeply concerned by today’s devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
Meanwhile, Turkey has been assured in India that it will provide all possible help from India’s side. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s tweet on the earthquake, saying he was saddened by the loss of lives and loss of property. Modi also offered all possible assistance to deal with the situation.
Deeply pained to learn that the devastating earthquake has also affected Syria. My sincere condolences to the families of the victims. We share the grief of Syrian people and remain committed to provide assistance and support in this difficult time.

“Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured get well soon. India stands in solidarity with the people of Turkey and stands ready to provide all possible assistance to deal with this tragedy,” PM Modi said in a tweet.
In another tweet, PM Modi said he was “deeply pained” to learn that the earthquake had affected Syria as well. “My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. We share the suffering of the Syrian people and are committed to providing aid and assistance during this difficult time.”
Turkey seemed to be taking Pakistan’s side in the matter of PoK and kept supporting Pakistan for Kashmir, but today the time has come that Pakistan is not in a position to help Turkey, meanwhile India has shown its generosity. The hands are extended because India believes in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
