Turkish Ambassador to India Firat Sunel took to Twitter and thanked Indian citizens for helping and donating essential items to those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6. India has been running ‘Operation Dost’ in Turkey and Syria ever since these countries were hit by disaster. Sunel had earlier tweeted: “Another batch of emergency donations from the people of India is on its way to Turkey. After the massive earthquake in Turkey, India is running Operation Dost which is being talked about everywhere.”
Now the common people of India have also come forward to help Turkey. In this episode, a Turkish Airlines plane has left for Turkey carrying material donated by Indians. Turkish Ambassador to India Farat Sunel himself has informed about this. Firat Sunel tweeted that another Turkish Airlines flight is on its way for emergency donations made by Indians. He added that Turkish Airlines is providing such free assistance on a daily basis to earthquake-affected areas.

Turkish Ambassador Firat Sunel further wrote that every tent, blanket or sleeping bag is very important for ‘Thank you India’ earthquake victims. Significantly, the death toll in the severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria has reached about 34 thousand. India has launched Operation Dost to help people in earthquake-ravaged Turkey and Syria. So far India has sent search and rescue teams to dig through the rubble and find survivors. Along with this, many medical teams have also been sent with necessary medical supplies.
