President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.
This is Sisi’s first visit to India. Union Minister S. Jaishankar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya, Piyush Goyal and Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena were also present in the function.

Modi and Sisi later discussed issues related to the two nations at Hyderabad House and announced that the two countries were elevating the ties to a ‘strategic partnership’ to expand ties in defence-security, trade and fighting terrorism.
